Friends of Slidell Police Foundation
FOSPF only funds grants to the Slidell Police Department.
The Friends of Slidell Police Foundation is the major source of private financial support for the Slidell Police Department (SPD). The Foundation is dedicated to helping SPD prevent crime, save lives and make our community a safer place to work and play by assisting SPD with resources not provided in the city budget.
The Friends of Slidell Police Foundation will be awarding grants to SPD. The Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law. Federal Tax ID# 82-3863196.
Foundation Guidelines
The Friends of Slidell Police Foundations primary area of interest is to assist Slidell police officers by providing funds for essential equipment, special programs and projects. Officer safety is the Foundations top priority. Each year the Foundations Board of Directors consults with SPD leadership to determine priorities for funding.
Application Procedures
Grant applications are reviewed first in the Department to be certain that the Foundation is the most appropriate source of funding and that the command staff is aware of the request. This group will recommend that the Foundation consider a proposal for funding or not.

How to Apply for a Grant
Complete all areas of the application form. The grant proposal must be signed by the Commanding Officer of the requesting Division/Unit or Captain or higher rank. Provide support documentation, such as written estimates or proposal which indicates exactly what the Foundation would be paying a vendor if the grant is approved. Please retain a copy for your records.
